Julia Wilson-Dickson

 

Julia Wilson-Dickson trained on the Teachers Course at the Central School of Speech and Drama. She taught both on the Teachers and the Acting Courses for two years, and then on the Acting Course for a further ten as joint Senior Lecturer in voice. She also taught on the Advanced Course in Vocal Studies. Since then she has been a freelancer and has worked for instance at the National Theatre with Peter Hall on Shakespeare in particular, and on many classical plays for other theatres from The Beaux Stratagem to Tess of the D'Urbevilles as well as a varied range of other works.

 

Julia worked on the film of Hamlet (Franco Zeffirelli), on Braveheart as Dialogue Coach and on period TV dramas such as Moll Flanders, Far from the Madding Crowd and Madame Bovary. The range and depth of her work has covered everything from modern opera, classical drama to fringe, experimental plays and films.

Julia has also done extensive work for the BBC Radio Repertory Company.


In the past few years her most recent works include 'Pinochet in Suburbia' with Derek Jacobi; 'Finding Neverland' with Jonnie Depp, as well as 'Beyond the Sea' with Kevin Spacey and the rest of the cast.
